Nichola Stewart
Stakeholder Manager, HMRC
Nichola joined HMRC’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) Programme in November 2025 as a Stakeholder Manager. She is part of the MTD External Readiness Business Customer Support team, where she leads on supporting business customer readiness and strengthening government engagement. In this role, Nichola is responsible for ensuring that forthcoming MTD changes are communicated clearly and effectively through a range of channels, enabling sole traders and landlords to understand and prepare for their statutory obligations.
Prior to joining HMRC, Nichola spent 24 years with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), where she held a range of roles across operations and project delivery. She has developed significant expertise in leading and delivering complex change initiatives, alongside building, and maintaining strong, collaborative partnerships with external organisations.
