EUROPEAN MD for a TECHNOLOGY client in the UNITED STATES
They had decided that they wanted the individual appointed to be an English speaker and therefore the UK as the preferred location for their European HQ.
Friisberg:
• scoped the role and agreed with the client the extent and focus of the new European MD’s remit
• made multiple site visits to the client’s UK manufacturing facility to better understand its business
• undertook research to identify suitable candidates, not just in the UK but across Europe
• approached nearly a hundred people, and then interviewed around a dozen of the strongest
• provided insights and recommendations to the client on their respective capabilities and experience
• advised (client and candidates) on their likely cultural compatibility, based on personality profiling
• guided the client on the structure of a UK compensation and benefits package
• secured an English-speaking Austrian, who was MD of a larger US-owned Germany-based competitor
