We worked with a Norwegian group which was looking to expand into the UK market. They identified an individual that they wanted to bring on board and as he was going to be based in the UK full time, they asked for our advice as to the registration requirements which would arise. We talked them through the tax implications of having an employee in the UK and explained their options, and they concluded that they would like to establish a branch. We set out what that would mean for them from an ongoing compliance perspective in order that they had a clear view of their requirements going forwarded.
