This webinar will help businesses in the creative sector understand where global demand is growing, and how to make informed choices about which markets and routes to pursue. It will also explore the practical barriers businesses encounter and how better use of market intelligence can help SMEs identify opportunities and develop a more effective international growth strategy.
What you’ll learn
- Identify and assess international market opportunities, using market intelligence and evidence to understand where demand and growth potential may exist.
- Understand different routes to international markets, including direct exporting, partnerships and intermediaries.
- Recognise and anticipate barriers to international trade, and use evidence that can inform decisions about entering new markets.
Description
International markets can offer significant opportunities for UK SMEs, but deciding where to focus, how to enter new markets and how to navigate barriers can be challenging. Drawing on research from the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre (Creative PEC), this webinar will explore what the evidence tells us about successful internationalisation and what it means for UK businesses more broadly.
We will look at where the opportunities are, including changing patterns of global demand and the markets in which UK businesses are already performing strongly. We will consider different routes to market, from exporting directly to working through international partners, networks and intermediaries, and examine the practical and structural barriers businesses face, including regulation, trade restrictions and the costs of operating internationally.
The session will also explore how SMEs can make better use of market intelligence and data to identify, prioritise and assess international opportunities—and turn global ambition into a more informed export strategy.
