The UK-India Free Trade Agreement includes commitments that may support UK services suppliers looking to sell into India, but businesses will need to understand what the agreement changes in practical terms and how it applies to their sector. This webinar will provide UK service exporters with a clear overview of the services elements of the agreement, including market-access considerations, regulatory requirements, business mobility, temporary travel, and the role of local partners or commercial presence. The session will help businesses assess how the FTA may affect opportunities for professional services, digital businesses, consultancies, education providers, creative businesses and other service exporters.

Rachel Spiegelhalter
Deputy Lead - India and GCC, Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade
Rachel is the Deputy Lead for promoting the UK-India Free Trade Agreement and UK-Gulf Cooperation Council Free Trade Agreement at the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade. Previously, she led work to support businesses in accessing opportunities under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), with a particular focus on Southeast Asia. She works closely with the business community and teams across the Department, both in the UK and overseas, to help businesses make the most of the opportunities presented by the UK's free trade agreements.
Emma Berry
Policy & Negotiation Lead, Trade in Services, Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade
Emma leads on implementation of the Services chapters of the UK-India FTA. She works in BIST’s Trade in Services team, who are responsible for the UK’s services trade policy and negotiation of the Services chapters of FTAs. Alongside her role implementing the India FTA, Emma has led negotiations with several international partners and holds the policy expertise on how FTAs can impact services businesses and their ability to trade internationally.
