Are you a SME currently exporting or looking to export to the EU? Trade digitisation can help you save time and money by reducing paperwork (up to 90%), saving admin time and freeing up staff time to spend more time growing your business.
What you’ll learn
- What is trade digitisation and how it works
- What is the Digital Trade Corridor (DTC) programme and how it can help SMEs
- Hear about real-life benefits from businesses from the 2025 pilot
- How to apply for a spot in the 2026 pilot programme
Description
Trade digitalisation replaces paper, or PDF trade documents with secure electronic versions, helping SMEs move goods faster, get paid sooner and cut time spent on admin. The UK’s Electronic Trade Documents Act 2023 gives electronic trade documents the same legal standing as paper, making it easier for businesses to adopt digital processes with confidence.
The Department for Business and Trade’s Digital Trade Corridor pilot will give selected SMEs free support to trade digitally with France, Germany and the Netherlands. Businesses will receive hands-on training with an external software provider over several weeks.
Places are free but limited. This session will explain how to apply for the 2026 pilot and share practical tips to strengthen your application.
