Karan is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Partner with the firm. He comes with over 19 years of experience in advising clients on indirect taxes. Before joining Grant Thornton in India, he worked with a large professional services firm.
Karan has advised his clients in areas related to GST, VAT, Service Tax, Central Excise, and Customs. He specializes in GST advisory, consumer/vendor negotiations, tax projections and simulations including GST impact, business model structuring, optimization opportunities, GST implementation including anti-profiteering and end to end compliance solutions.
Kannan Raman
Partner, Grant Thornton Bharat LLP
Kannan is the UK Corridor Tax Leader for Grant Thornton Bharat and focuses on supporting multinationals operating across the India–UK corridor. He is a joint hire between the UK and India firms of Grant Thornton and is based in India, while spending significant time in the UK. He brings over 25 years of experience working with leading professional services firms across London and India.
Kannan specialises in tax and has extensive experience advising large multinational corporations on cross-border tax matters between the UK and India.
He has worked with several Indian and UK multinationals on matters including holding company structures, business reorganisations, optimisation of R&D tax credits, accessing government grants, managing tax enquiries, tax compliance, and transfer pricing.
Ankur Agrawal
Director, Grant Thornton Bharat LLP
Ankur is a Director in the Global People Solutions practice, based out of Bangalore, with over 15 years of experience in advising clients on various aspects of direct tax, labour laws including social security, global mobility, immigration, and exchange control regulations.
He has advised clients on compensation structuring, secondment structuring, social security compliance analysis, and evaluation of multiple Social Security Agreements. He also has significant experience in managing social security litigations in India.
Ankur has authored multiple articles for leading newspapers and magazines and has conducted awareness sessions across various industry forums.
