Description
From 29 August 2025, the United States removed the $800 de minimis threshold for commercial shipments. This change affects the vast majority of UK businesses exporting low-value goods to the United States, including items that were previously exempt from tariffs and duties. This webinar is designed to provide clear and practical guidance on the latest tariff changes and shipping requirements.
The United States remains the UK's largest export market, accounting for 21.7% of total UK trade in the four quarters leading to Q3 2024. With £182.6 billion in exports, the US presents enormous opportunities—especially for British brands that enjoy strong recognition across the Atlantic. Additionally, UK businesses can benefit from minimal language barriers when entering the US market.
However, the recent changes to the De Minimis rules for low-value shipments, effective from 29 August, have raised concerns for many exporters.
