The VG Unkel intends to conclude a new water concession contract with a company qualified to do so with effect from 01.01.2024. Water supply companies interested in concluding such a contract are requested to submit a written expression of interest to the VG Unkel within the period resulting from this announcement. This may include the takeover of the water supply network of the general supply in the area of the VG Unkel in accordance with the old concession agreement. The franchisee assumes the operating obligation for these facilities including the supply and delivery obligation to house and land owners as well as commercial enterprises (in accordance with AVBWasserV) in its own name and for its own account together with the provision of extinguishing water for fire protection to the extent required. The concessionaire is responsible for providing and supplying the required water from secured supplies.
The existing concession agreement between the Unkel Municipality (VG) and the current concessionaire ends on 31.12.2023. The Unkel Municipality intends to conclude a new water concession agreement with a company qualified to do so, with effect from 01.01.2024. The VG Unkel, as the body responsible for the task of water supply in the area covered by the municipality, is obliged to ensure the water supply there. This safeguarding is to be ensured by concluding a concession agreement. With the concession, the execution of the task of water supply in the area of the association municipality is to be completely transferred to the concessionaire. In the event of a change of the concessionaire, this includes the takeover of the water supply network of the general supply in the area of the Unkel Municipality in accordance with the provisions of the old concession agreement.
