Coaching and Developing Your People for Business Growth

Thursday 27 November at 12:00PM

Unlocking business growth begins with investing in people through coaching, development, and strategic learning to drive measurable success.

What you’ll learn

  • Understand why coaching and development are critical to business success
  • Learn practical tools to support employee development
  • Discover how to identify and close skills gaps

Description

Unlocking business growth starts with unlocking the potential of your people. In this session, delivered as part of the UK Department for Business & Trade’s UK Export Academy Business Skills Programme, we will explore why coaching and development are essential drivers of long-term success. Rather than viewing learning as a cost, we’ll reframe it as a strategic investment – highlighting the tangible benefits for both your business and your team.

We’ll discuss different types of investment, from financial resources to the critical commitment of time, and how to link these to measurable outcomes through SMART goals. With the wealth of learning tools now available, there is no reason for employees not to take ownership of their development, but leaders must provide structure and direction. We will look at how clear job descriptions and person specifications define success in each role, and how gap analysis can identify what’s missing – and what’s needed – to take people from where they are today to where they need to be.
