Founded in 1994, Rotech Subsea is a specialist in controlled flow excavation (CFE) solutions. It develops and manufactures trenching and excavation equipment for the offshore renewables and oil and gas industries.

Rotech Subsea provides CFE systems, jet trenching systems and subsea grab systems. The applications for the tools include:

• export and array cable trenching, de-burial and recovery
• harbour clearance
• rock dumping and drill cutting removal
• umbilical and pipeline trenching, de-burial and recovery
• unexploded ordnance access and de-burial

Rotech Subsea is recognised for its wide range of subsea tools that enhance jet profile, increase velocities and provide precise control for non-contact excavation. Since 2022, Rotech has operated in Taiwan to support the growing offshore wind sector in APAC. Currently, three spreads of its CFE equipment are deployed in the region and have supported power cable de-burial and trenching operations, along with sea bed levelling for projects in Taiwan.

Industry track record

Rotech Subsea has completed over 500 trenching and excavation projects globally. In APAC, it has provided services for:

• cable trenching, sea bed levelling, and debris removal for projects in Taiwan
• umbilical post-lay trenching for a project in Australia
• umbilical post-lay trenching and pipeline free-span correction for a project in Vietnam
