Company Outline
Founded in 2019, Pict Offshore provides personnel lifting equipment and services to the offshore wind sector. It develops, builds and sells innovative access, lifting and height safety solutions.
Pict Offshore’s core product is the Get Up Safe (GUS) system. This is an active heave-compensated personnel lifting system, designed to transfer offshore wind technicians between CTVs and the external platform on wind turbines. The system is operated from the CTV and uses integrated sensors to monitor vessel movement to maintain a safe distance between the technician and the vessel deck.
GUS was developed in partnership with Ørsted. The product has been used at scale at offshore wind farms in the UK and the US. The system has proven to improve safety and reduce operational costs by improving access to turbines in challenging metocean conditions. Where it has been deployed, it has successfully replaced boat landings and ladders as the method of access between CTVs and wind turbines.

Industry track record
The GUS system was deployed at Ørsted’s Hornsea 2 project during 2021, with one system on each of the 165 turbine external platforms. By June 2024, it had completed over 10,000 personnel transfers with no safety incidents.
Pict Offshore subsequently supplied GUS systems for three Ørsted projects in the US, representing a combined total of 161 units. It also supplied RWE with a GUS system for Thor offshore wind project in Denmark to support the offshore substation installation.
