Company Outline

Founded in 2010, Motive Offshore Group specialises in the design, manufacture, rental and inspection of marine and lifting equipment. It works within the offshore renewables and oil and gas sectors and has a team of over 300 employees working across 12 locations.

Motive Offshore Group provides a one-stop solution for the offshore wind sector through 3 divisions:

• Motive Rentals for equipment rentals, including high-capacity winches, multi-disciplinary personnel deployment and umbilical and cable installation equipment
• Motive Manufacturing for bespoke design and fabrication services, equipment refurbishment and maintenance and vessel services
• Motive Certification and Inspection for hose integrity management, lifting gear inspection and testing, umbilical testing and wire rope management

As part of the growth of its activities in APAC, Motive Offshore Group established the Subsea Cable Alliance in 2022 in partnership with Kraken Robotics. Subsea Cable Alliance aims to provide comprehensive cable handling and lay services under a single entity to offshore wind projects in the region through a dedicated renewables hub based in Taiwan.

Industry track record

Motive Offshore Group has provided services to over 15 offshore wind projects globally.

This includes projects in APAC, such as:

• Changfang Xidao in Taiwan, where it provided cable handling, transpooling and equipment manufacture
• Formosa 1 and 2 in Taiwan, where it provided cable lay, beach pull-in winch and tensioner spread equipment
• Greater Changhua in Taiwan, where it provided cable load out and pull-in winch spreads
• Yulin in Taiwan, where it provided export cable pull-in

Motive Offshore Group has also designed and manufactured cable reels and transferred array and export cables onto them for CWind’s offshore wind vessel fleet in Taiwan.
