Founded in 1972, Briggs Marine is a provider of marine and subsea services across the defence, renewable energy and marine infrastructure sectors. It specialises in port and marine operations, subsea cable installation and services and vessel chartering.

For the offshore wind industry, Briggs Marine provides:

• marine and environmental surveys, including bathymetric, oceanographic, marine mammal, sea bird and Unexploded Ordnance (UXO)
• subsea cable services, including cable storage, route investigation and seabed preparation, site clearance and burial, array and export cable installation support and equipment hire
• operations and maintenance services, including cable monitoring, maintenance and repair, crane inspections, removal of marine growth, scour monitoring and subsea component inspection
• port and vessel services, including technical and operational management, Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) supply and ad hoc vessel services
• commercial diving services including surveys and inspection activities during the development, installation and operations and maintenance phases

Briggs Marine owns a fleet of coastal survey vessels, CTVs and subsea cable equipment, such as cable tensioners and chutes.

Industry track record

Briggs Marine has provided services to over 10 offshore wind projects in the UK, including:

• export cable repair for the Gwynt-y-Mor, Thanet and Walney 2 projects
• array cable services for the London Array, Race Bank and West of Duddon Sands projects
• boulder clearance and site demarcation for the Neart Na Gaoithe project
• scour surveys for the Greater Gabbard project
• rock bag installation for the Burbo Bank project
