Founded in 1979, Global Maritime provides marine and engineering consultancy services to the offshore renewables, energy, shipping and aquaculture sectors. With engineering, geoscience and hydrodynamic experience, Global Maritime’s services cover the full lifecycle of offshore wind projects, from early consent and pre-front-end engineering design (FEED) to operations and maintenance.

For the offshore wind industry, it provides:

  • site characterisation and geotechnical surveys
  • pre-FEED/FEED and detailed design services

  • transportation and installation engineering

Global Maritime has a proved track record of supporting floating offshore wind projects. It offers floating foundation concept selection support and actively participates in floating offshore wind research and development programmes.

Industry track record

Global Maritime has supported over 100 offshore wind projects across more than 15 countries.

It has supported over 20 floating offshore wind projects.

This includes:

  • Hywind Scotland, where it was the lead contractor for the main bearing exchange
  • Kincardine in Scotland, where it provided marine warranty services for the installation phase
  • Muir Mhòr in Scotland, where it provided pre-FEED and owner’s engineering studies for foundation, and mooring and anchor system
  • Hywind Tampen in Norway, where it provided transportation and installation services and port logistics assessment
  • New England Aqua Ventus in the USA, where it provided pre-construction marine assurance and installation engineering support

It has also supported a number of fixed offshore wind projects globally.

In Asia Pacific (APAC), this includes:

  • Greater Changhua 1 in Taiwan, through the provision of marine warranty services
  • Grey Whale 3 in South Korea, where it provided export cable FEED studies
