Company outline
Founded in 2008, Marine Power Systems specialises in floating offshore wind technology. It has over 10 years of experience in the design and engineering of floating offshore wind foundations.
Marine Power Systems’ main design, the PelaFlex platform, is a tension leg floating platform. The design allows for the rapid deployment of industrial scale floating offshore wind, through simple installation requirements using standard vessels and wide installation weather windows. The multiple launch options and its shallow draft enable fast deployment and reduce the need for specific port requirements.
PelaFlex is designed for volume manufacturing at an industrial scale. It has been thoroughly tested through a series of scale prototypes. Beyond sea testing, Marine Power Systems has carried out thousands of hours of simulations and has used a tank testing program, equivalent to years of non-stop testing.
Marine Power Systems has established collaborative working relationships in Japan to deliver PelaFlex to the Japanese market.
Industry track record

- 16 projects in the UK
- 6 projects in the rest of Europe
