Company Outline

Founded in 1883, First Subsea is a supplier of cable protection systems and mooring connectors. Expanding its product range from its initial patented ball and taper technology, it has over 30 years of experience serving the offshore wind and oil and gas industries.

For fixed offshore wind, First Subsea provides a range of cable protection systems (CPS) for both monopile and J-tube structures. First Subsea can provide CPS for any cable type, including array cables, export cables, interconnectors and fibre optic cables, along with additional protection systems for cable crossings and repair joints. First Subsea also provides quick connect lifting tools, to enable quick and safe lifting of large and heavy components.

For floating offshore wind, First Subsea provides products across two areas: cable accessories and mooring components. For cable accessories, it supplies bend stiffener connectors, dynamic bend stiffeners and touch down protection to help ensure cable integrity during installation and operations offshore. For mooring, First Subsea supplies platform mooring connectors and subsea mooring connectors to assist with efficient mooring hook-up of offshore platforms.

Beyond its product range, First Subsea offers a wide range of services from its site in Lancaster, UK. This includes design and engineering, project management and testing facilities for research and development. In Lancashire, First Subsea also has dedicated polyurethane manufacturing facilities, test rigs and workshops to support the supply of products from design through to delivery.
