Company outline

Balmoral is a polymer engineering company established in 1980. It has extensive global experience in the offshore renewable, oil and gas, oceanographic and defence sectors.

Balmoral is a specialist in the design, manufacture and despatch of buoyancy, protection, insulation and associated product solutions for fixed-bottom and floating offshore wind projects. Its products for the offshore wind industry include bend restrictors and stiffeners, polyurethane and composite bellmouths, scour protection systems, surface and subsurface buoyancy solutions, and its patented cable protection system, Balmoral FIBREFLEX. Balmoral can provide its products through fully integrated packages. The packages can include support services, such as cable analysis and subsea testing.

In Aberdeen, UK, Balmoral has created an industry-leading product design and manufacturing facility that includes design engineering, production and testing facilities focused on the offshore energy sector. It is also currently developing an advanced composites quayside manufacturing facility at Montrose Port in Scotland. The site will enable the delivery of large-scale composite structures to support the increasing demand from floating offshore wind projects.

Industry track record

Balmoral has supported projects that currently generate or are in the process of generating over 11 GW of offshore wind capacity across the UK and international waters. This includes both bottom-fixed and floating offshore wind projects.
