If you think you are facing a trade barrier due to your gender, you can let us know by via the Portal.

Gender-related trade barriers to trade can be either gender-specific (barriers which specifically impact women) or gender-intensified (barriers which disproportionately affect women).

This could include, but is not limited to:

  • financial barriers
  • facing higher rejection rates for loans or receiving smaller amounts than men
  • venture capital and investment funds favouring male-led businesses
  • informal barriers
  • exclusion from business networks or trade associations due to gender
  • trade policy barriers
  • higher tariffs
  • unfair application of customs procedures, rules and regulations on the basis of gender
  • digital or technology barriers
  • gender-based violence and/or harassment
