Some recent case studies

Polestar 2

Polestar

Polestar, a leading name in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, has rapidly expanded its presence in the UK. It has placed 37,000 vehicles on British roads in just 5 years.

This growth has been driven by strategic location choices, access to the UK’s rich automotive talent pool, and strong partnerships with local business networks. These collaborations have helped Polestar engage in key sustainability and EV policy discussions, boosting its visibility and influence.

Founded in Sweden, Polestar brings a distinct Scandinavian approach to design, which blends minimalism, functionality, and innovation. This design philosophy has resonated with UK consumers, contributing to the brand’s appeal and market success.

The company’s commitment to the UK’s net zero goals is evident in its efforts to reduce vehicle emissions and promote a greener automotive future.

Polestar’s journey shows that, with the right strategy and values, the UK offers a powerful platform for international expansion.

Hyperion

Hyperion Robotics

Finland’s Hyperion Robotics is transforming unseen infrastructure with advanced engineering and manufacturing solutions that dramatically reduce embodied carbon, accelerate delivery and increase structural performance for utilities, energy, transport and industrial clients.

Its recent collaboration with National Grid and the University of Sheffield on low carbon foundations for substation infrastructure is a UK first. The collaboration demonstrated how smarter design, advanced materials, and automated manufacturing can achieve up to 70% less concrete, 65% lower embodied CO₂, and 4 times the strength of traditional structures.

Hyperion is now poised to scale further in the UK having already delivered over 100 tonnes of carbon savings for clients and earning Silver at Cemex Ventures Pitch Day 2025, where it stood alongside the world’s most innovative construction-tech startups.

With strong interest and support from UK infrastructure stakeholders, it's opening its first UK factory, enabling localised production, job creation, and supply chain optimisation.

Odfjell

Odfjell

Odfjell Oceanwind (OOW) is a Norwegian company specialising in floating offshore wind solutions. The company offers floating wind designs, engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) management services, and develops its own wind park projects based on proprietary technologies.

OOW has established a significant presence in the UK by acquiring Ørsted’s 80% stake in the Salamander Offshore Wind Farm, a 100MW floating wind project located 35 kilometres off the coast of Peterhead, Scotland.

OOW will collaborate with the remaining shareholders – Simply Blue Group and Subsea7 – to advance the project as a demonstration site for commercial-scale floating offshore wind.

Proptivity GGT

Proptivity

Proptivity is a Swedish company that has quickly established itself as a pioneer in providing 5G solutions for the real estate sector. The company launched its UK operations in late 2024, just 8 months after completing its initial market assessment.

One of Proptivity’s major milestones in the UK has been securing partnerships with leading telecom providers, including BT Group, Virgin Media O2, and Vodafone.

Following these partnerships, the company announced that 2 of London’s newest prime office developments – The Dacre in Westminster and The Folgate Building in the City (photo) – have selected Proptivity to deliver cutting-edge mobile connectivity throughout the buildings.

Sustainability is also a key consideration for the company. Its latest technology consumes 70% less energy and resources compared to traditional systems, making it an attractive choice for businesses aiming to meet their environmental goals.
