Our partnership with Jobcentre Plus means we have a pool of really good candidates

“Our business relies on people. The care sector doesn’t work without having good people”. The story of how Embark Learning and Fairway Healthcare used services from Jobcentre Plus to recruit staff.

Safwan Hanash, Partnership and Development Manager at Embark Learning and Fairway Healthcare

Safwan Hanash (Saf), is Partnership and Development Manager for Embark Learning and Fairway Healthcare which has helped more than 2000 people into jobs in the care sector.

Jobcentre Plus support for employers

Jobcentre Plus offers a variety of services to help employers with recruitment, including advice, assistance with advertising vacancies, and support for specific groups like those with disabilities or those needing extra help.

Saf finds Jobcentre Plus offers him the right kind of people to become healthcare professionals and has been instrumental in finding good quality candidates. "They understand what we’re about, they know our jobs, they know the training, they know the locations of where these vacancies are and they also have a good idea of the type of candidates that we’re looking for."

‘I would 100% recommend the Jobcentre Plus from a recruitment perspective. Our excellent partnership means we have access to a pool of really good, talented candidates which is absolutely brilliant. They make our life so much easier.’

Once Jobcentre Plus has found Saf someone trustworthy, with a good attitude, social skills and the disposition for care work, the partnership trains and develops that candidate, starts them off with regular work in a care setting and that puts them into a strong position to secure a permanent contract with one of the care homes that they are working with in the West Midlands area.

It’s a recipe for success that’s worked time and time again.
