Marine Mammal Detector day & night

Detection of the target in the water (seal) in night time

Offshore operators undertaking works such as seismic surveys and pile driving are required to implement measures to minimise injuries and disturbances to marine mammals within a defined operating zone. The current approach has several disadvantages and not really effective.
RIGOCAL Engineering in collaboration with EPCC at The University of Edinburgh developed a cost-effective, automated solution for the detection of marine mammals that performs significantly more-efficiently than the current approach that results in a considerable reduction in lost operating days. The new method utilises advanced real-time analysis of RGB and IR video images captured at the operating site to automatically detect and record mammal activity within the mitigation zone.
