Description

On the property Flankenschanze 42/Borchertweg 2 managed by GESA mbH there is groundwater damage caused mainly by BTEX, which already exceeds the property boundaries in the western downstream direction. In order to prevent the further relocation of pollutants with the groundwater effluent beyond the property boundaries, a hydraulic effluent protection system is planned. For this purpose, 6 wells (8 m depth, DN 125 HDPE extension) are to be constructed. To achieve the securing objective, an average volume flow of 12 m /h (2 m /h per well) must be ensured. The pollutant spectrum in groundwater consists of BTEX (primarily benzene and trimethylbenzenes), MKW and MTBE. The average concentrations of pollutants in the safety wells are expected as follows: BTEX - 10 000 μg/l, benzene: 4 500 μg/l, MKW (C5-C10): 2 000 μg/l, MKW (C 10 - C 40): 500 μg/l, MKW (C1-C10): 15 000 μg/l (incl. methane!), MTBE: 50 μg/l, TMB: 1 000 μg/l, TBA: < 100 μg/l, methane: 12 000 μg/l. The technique of groundwater purification is functionally put out to tender. Other alternative methods can be offered via ancillary offers. The space available for the installation of the GWRA is limited.
