The city of Marl is planning the construction of a new three-form elementary school on Hervester Strasse as a star-shaped two-storey school building and a single-storey sports building. Both buildings are planned in timber construction on reinforced concrete foundation slabs, the sports building will have a partial basement. The school building has a cluster structure with classrooms, group rooms, specialist rooms, an administration area and a canteen/assembly hall. The sports building houses a two-court sports hall, a teaching pool and ancillary rooms with changing rooms and sanitary facilities.
