Description
The organisation responsible for Austrian motorway network has launched a Europe-wide concession tender for 221 EV charging stations at motorway rest areas.
Technical requirements:
• minimum of eight fast-charging stations for cars per location, including vehicles with trailers
• fast chargers for trucks, with at least one device supporting Megawatt Charging (MCS)
• slow-charging stations for overnight charging of heavy-duty vehicles
Additionally, the scope includes a canopy with photovoltaic systems, lighting, accessibility features, and a modern payment system (debit or credit cards).
As of today, the concession is planned to be awarded by the end of 2026 or beginning of 2027. The locations are expected to become operational in 2027.
