Description
North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to undertake
construction of the staff accommodation projects for Mount Isa, Camooweal and/or Dajarra (the project). The project’s preliminary
design is outlined in the documents provided by AECOM – included in “Attachment 3 – Preliminary Design”.
The services required are Parts C and D of the Modern Methods of Construction Project. In summary, the Department of Energy and
Public Works has established a panel arrangement for the supply, delivery and installation (Parts A and B) of prefabricated modular
products, including homes (in this case staff accommodation). To support the installation of these prefabricated homes, contractors
are required to provide ‘site setup’ including demolition, civil, service connections and external temporary site fencing (excluding
concrete slab for the modular building) (Part C) and ‘site external works’ including hard and soft landscaping, driveways and
garages/carports (Part D). This ITT is seeking contractors to provide Parts C and D for the Mount Isa, Camooweal and Dajarra staff
accommodation projects.
Please note that the Part C and D contractor will need to complete some minor site preparation works (site levelling, etc) prior the
Part A provider constructing the slab and installing the prefabricated modular building. Whilst the blended works are being
undertaken, and during the whole of Part C and D works, the Part C and D contractor will be the principal contractor for the
purposes of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011 and Workplace Health and Safety Regulation 2011.
Please note that NWHHS is looking for submissions from the market to provide the services at one, some, or all of the sites
mentioned above. The determination of which supplier provides best value for money for which site will be based on an assessment
of the tenders against the evaluation criteria, on a site by site basis. For example, one contractor could be awarded one, some, or all
sites. If it is ‘some or all’ of the sites, then the different sites will be managed through separable portions under the contract
(AS4300-1995).
