Description

The IWMF would be a cost-effective solution that would help Singapore achieves greater environmental sustainability in the long run. Coupled with the latest state-of-the-art technologies, the IWMF would provide Singapore with several key solid waste treatment processes in an integrated facility. Unlike the existing WTE plants which only handle incinerable waste, the IWMF would be able to effectively treat other waste streams such as household recyclables collected under the National Recycling Programme (“NRP”), source-segregated food waste and used water sludge from TWRP to maximise both energy and resource recovery.
