Description
The contract includes the following engineering services: DEGES Deutsche Einheit Fernstraßenplanungs- und -bau GmbH is planning the construction section (BA) 4 of the A 281 between the Seehausen and Gröpelingen junction points (AS) on behalf of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen as an over-corner connection and gap closure between the A 1 and the A 27. An essential component of the BA 4 is also the Weser crossing as a swim-in and lowering tunnel. The construction of the federal motorway 281 is a federal trunk road measure of the Federal Republic of Germany. In future it will be the north-western corner connection between the existing A 1 and A 27 motorways in Bremen. The closure of the motorway ring serves to relieve the strain on the A1 and A27 motorways with the Bremer Kreuz junction and the Stephanibrücke bridge in the course of the B6. Its connection to the international trunk road network makes it significant for the existence and development of the freight traffic centre (GVZ), the Weser ports on the left and right banks of the Weser and Bremen Airport. With the 4th construction phase (hereinafter referred to as BA 4), the spatial barrier "Weser" is overcome. This is a decisive prerequisite for the further development of the economic region of Lower Saxony and Bremen. The A 281 is to be built as a four-lane motorway with hard shoulder and 2 separate lanes with central reservation. It runs from the existing AS Seehausen in a northerly direction through Niedervieland, passes under the Weser in a tunnel and runs over the site of the present ArcelorMittal Bremen steelworks to AS Gröpelingen. When completed, the A 281 will serve as a relief route from the A1 motorway (AS Arsten) in the south to the A 27 in the north of Bremen. The 4th construction phase begins with the connection to the existing construction phase 1 in the course of the new construction of the junction Bremen-Gröpelingen north of the Weser and ends with the connection to the construction phase 3/2 west of the GVZ at the junction Bremen-Seehausen on the southern side of the Weser. The Weser crossing will take place through a tunnel, which will be built by means of a swim-in and lowering procedure. The tunnel will have a rectangular cross-section without hard shoulder with 2 lanes per direction. According to RABT 2006, breakdown bays will be arranged in the tunnel area. The construction site includes a steelworks of ArcelorMittal Bremen (hereinafter referred to as AMB) with slag dump and track field, a cement plant of Holcim, the Seehausen village area and a dredged material landfill with flushing fields. Corresponding influences are to be expected and taken into account during planning and construction.
