Description

The purpose of this Request for Tender is to establish a panel of qualified and experienced individuals or companies for rope work and Rhododendron ponticum control on cliff faces and steep terrain in designated areas across Connemara and Mayo. The work will focus on invasive species management in sensitive ecological sites, including Special Areas of Conservation. Tasks may include: rope-access operations to manually remove Rhododendron plants, safe and effective application of herbicides in accordance with best practices for invasive species control, working in alignment with Restoration Action Plans and adhering to environmental guidelines for SACs. The panel will operate from 1st January 2025 to 31st December 2025, with an option to extend for up to two years to December 2027. Admission to the panel does not guarantee contracts for work.
