Description
As a university of excellence with more than 43,000 students and around 6,000 employees, the University of Hamburg (hereinafter referred to as "UHH") is one of the strongest research universities in Germany and at the same time one of the largest educational institutions in northern Germany. With its concept of a "flagship university" in the Hamburg metropolitan region, it cultivates innovative and cooperative links with scientific and non-scientific partners. It produces for the location ? but also nationally and internationally ? the future-oriented social goods of education, knowledge and the exchange of knowledge under the guiding principle of sustainability.
As the central awarding authority for the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg), the University of Hamburg is conducting an open procedure for a supply service.
The aim is to purchase and supply a complete, directly operational system for computed tomography for the LAYER project - increasing the service life of additively manufactured (WAAM) components using hybrid manufacturing processes. 280,000.00 net has been approved by the third-party funding body for the procurement and commissioning of the system.
As part of the project, methods are being developed to produce a fine-grained and quasi-isotropic microstructure during production. Furthermore, different methods for robot-based insitu surface treatment will be developed in order to eliminate the downstream surface treatment step or to reduce the effort involved. As part of the planned research project, process parameter windows for the production of "defect-free" samples and demonstrators must be developed. samples and demonstrators. In addition to additive manufacturing, process parameter windows for surface treatment and microstructure optimization must be developed. The service life depends in particular on the type, shape and position of the irregularities in the additively manufactured component. Validating the process parameters by analyzing micrographs is not sufficient, as a micrograph only represents the condition of one plane. Although the production and evaluation of multiple micrographs is practically possible, there is a risk that important areas will be ground away or cannot be exposed during preparation. It is therefore necessary to analyze the samples as a whole using a CT system. Based on the analysis performed, parameters can be developed that lead to the components with permissible irregularities. This cycle, consisting of sample, welding and testing, must be carried out as precisely as possible in order to be able to work out the widest possible range of parameters.
