Description

The work required involves the planting of approximately 1.36 million trees of which there are approximately 680,000 Sx 410 1+0 and 678,000 Pl 410 1+0. All trees are to be planted in wildfire burned areas. Areas are all part of old Free Growing blocks which ages ranging from 7 to 35 years old. Remaining trees are approximately 2-4 meters tall and are in various stages of burn. This project focuses more on severely damaged plantation though. Some Wildlife Tree Patches may compose approximately 5-10% of blocks and consist of mature timber. These will need WDT Assessments prior to work. Planting densities will be approximately 1,200 sph to 2,200 sph. The majority of the sites have reasonable 4x4 road access, the remainder can be accessed by ATV/UTV. Some trail building may be necessary. Potential bidders are strongly encouraged to visit planting blocks prior to bidding. Please see notes for more access comments. Work is to commence once trees are released from the nursery. They are requested to be ready by July 5th 2025. Work is to finish by July 20, 2025 unless extreme weather and/or fire pushes back the start date.
