Description
At the DLR test site in Lampoldshausen, DLR operates several facilities for the purpose of testing liquid chemical propellant rocket engines in the framework of the civil European space program. One of these test facilities is the P8 test bench that has been operating since 1995 for miscellaneous research and technology development activities. The existing P8 test facility comprises all supply systems for all media necessary to operate cryogenic rocket propulsion systems within the existing two test cells. Furthermore, the infrastructure of the P8 provides functions required for a variety of setups for scientific and technology development applications. For future testing of turbo pumps and pump-driven motors, an extension with a low pressure supply for turbo pump testing and turbo pump feed engine testing is planned. This extension will include a new building (P8.3) and expanded supply systems. This specification comprises design and delivery of the Flare and Vent stack of Lot 4310, suitable for safe operation with the specified fluids at the specified conditions. The Lot 4310 includes following main systems: — flare riser with tip section and arrestor, — KO drum at the bottom of the flare pipe incl. interface to the foundation, — vent pipe, — pilot burner package incl. igniter and control device, — propane panel with pressure reducer and shut off valves, — purging system. Further information can be found in the (technical) contract specifications.
