Description
The NextSeq 1000 Sequencing System will be used for the sequencing and surveillance of viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens, and will be carried out in Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) Public Health Laboratory (PHL). APL and all PHLs in Canada are accredited and use standard operating procedures (SOPs) for their diagnostic work, which are used for collaboration and commonly shared and used in other PHLs across the country. It is important that Alberta continue to use the Illumina platform to ensure this collaboration continues. One of the uses will be with microbial genomes.
