Description
As many passengers as possible with a Swiss SIM card should be able to use the Internet free of charge on SBB long-distance trains.
SBB has been testing "SBB FreeSurf" since May 2019. SBB is looking for mobile phone operators who would like to allow their customers to use the Internet on SBB main lines free of charge.
The tender covers a period of 3 years from the 2021 timetable change (13.12.20).
Several tenders are planned in order to achieve the goal of offering access to "SBB FreeSurf" to the largest possible number of travellers.
The technical implementation is the responsibility of the service provider once the contract is signed.
SBB's "FreeSurf" will be operational for the 2021 timetable change.
The costs of the technical implementation will be reimbursed up to a fixed maximum price. The use of "SBB FreeSurf" is remunerated on the basis of a single amount/day.
