Description
The University of Hamburg is setting up a new experiment for which we require custom objectives. We want to use the objectives to image atoms which are trapped inside vacuum, 9.5mm behind a 4.5mm thick Silica window (surface quality lambda/8).
4 identical objectives with the following specifications:
0.60 NA (if the specs below cannot be met using i.e. UV compatible materials, please reduce to NA = 0.55 or NA = 0.5 if necessary)
infinity corrected
Working distance: 16mm (~2mm Air +4.5mm Silica +9.5mm Vacuum). The distance inside vacuum and the thickness of the silica is exact up to 50um and fixed by the geometry of our cell. The air distance is an aiming value, but should not be significantly smaller than 2mm.
Diffraction limited at 532nm and 759nm
Near- or diffraction limited at 399nm and 556nm
Note: The front working distance must always be the same, but we can compensate for a chromatic slight focus/defocus on the "collimated" side, if necessary
Full field of view: ~0.4mm diagonal
High total transmission; 80% in the wavelength range 301-759 nm, most importantly from 369-759 nm.
Glass material and coating should not be damaged by exposure to UV light (301-400nm)
AR coating: 369 - 770 nm, all surfaces, most importantly from 399-759 nm
Individual wavelengths in order of importance: 759, 532, 770, 399, 556, 578, 649, 369.
We would like to see and approve the calculated coating diagrams prior to the coating runs.
We require a cone shaped housing to enable unobstructed propagation of beams with a 10mm diameter originating from the focus position under an angle of 65° relative to the optical axis of the microscope (or 25° relative to the vacuum cell silica glass surface). Otherwise, we have no restrictions on the total length and diameter of the microscope, but it should be as small as possible given the constraints above.
Housing material: Ultem
