Description

The Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) has been in existence since 2009, but its roots reach further back into the past, as the HZB was created by the merger of two older research institutions, the former Hahn-Meitner-Institut (founded in 1959) and the BESSY-Gesellschaft (founded in 1979). With approximately 1,100 employees, HZB is now one of the largest non-university research centres in Berlin; member of the Helmholtz Association. The HZB researches at two locations, in Wannsee and Adlershof, and the development project underway at BESSY II in Adlershof - Undulator IVUE 32 - must be manufactured and assembled. In cooperation with HZB, the subassemblies of the frame, the drives, the shift and gap motion, the adjustment units and sensor carriers are manufactured, mounted and aligned on the basis of production and assembly drawings.
