By 2023, the core renovation of the building and the renewal of a parking deck are planned. In this section, the office building House II will be fundamentally modernised from mid-2019 onwards. The house 2 (L x W x H approx. 66 x 13 x 16 m) has a total of five floors plus attic. The basement is used for technical areas, an underground car park entrance and other ancillary rooms. The heat supply is implemented via the district heating network of the Stadtwerke Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe public utility). Indirect feed-in via a plate heat exchanger is planned. The new district heating transfer station will be installed in building 2 in the basement.heating loadI. Heating load radiator149 kWII. Heating load of heating and cooling ceilings64 kWIII. Heating load of ventilation systems64 kWTotal heating loads I - III 277 kWHeating centreThe district heating transfer station is located in the former heating centre in the basement of the building. pressure maintenance / water make-upTechnically required pressure maintenance and water make-up devices are arranged in the technical centre in the basement. The pressure maintenance is carried out as a pump-controlled pressure maintenance station.Heat distribution networksDistribution/pipingThe main distributor is arranged in the current boiler room in the basement. From here, the distribution takes place via the following main groups:- Heating and cooling ceiling- Radiators South- Radiators North- HVAC unit- ReserveHighly efficient heating pumps are provided.Pipes are welded to the manifold as black steel pipesHeat insulation:Mineral wool Insulation sleeves, aluminium clad:Distribution pipes from the technical centre UG, risers, distribution pipes in the false ceiling, distribution pipes Below the windows, other radiator connectionsMineral wool Insulation sleeves, aluminium clad with galvanised sheet metal cladding:Distribution superstructures, air conditioning unit connections, pipes below 2.00 m from RFB mineral wool mats aluminium-laminated:heat exchangers, distribution room heating surfaces:office surfaces:In all offices, heating via heating and cooling ceilings as well as radiators is provided. In the offices, one radiator per grid will be installed below the windows in a niche in a steel construction provided by the customer. rooms such as kitchenettes and copy rooms as well as conference rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors will be equipped with compact radiators. WC rooms are equipped with compact radiators below the windows. For the room "corridor transition" in the basement, as well as "foyer atrium" in the ground floor, sectional radiators are planned. Hallway atrium on 1st and 2nd floor: panel radiators.Refrigeration systems:The central refrigeration plant with the associated refrigerating machine is located in the warehouse in the basement.I. Cooling capacity air handling unit53 kWrecooling unit:The cooling water for the refrigerating machine is recooled via an air-cooled table condenser on the green area next to the entrance to the underground car park. Pressure maintenance / water make-up:Technically required pressure maintenance and water make-up devices are located in the warehouse "2.U01.20" in the basement. The pressure is maintained as a membrane expansion vessel.Cooling distribution systemsFor the entire building, two cold water networks in a two-pipe system are provided.Network 1: AHU systemsNetwork 2: Cooling ceilingsVertical cold water distribution takes place via the technology shaft north-west. Horizontal access is planned via the suspended ceilings. The connection of the air handling unit in the basement is made by means of pipes laid under the ceiling. Cooling of office space: Suspended cooling ceilings are provided for all office space from the ground floor to the 3rd floor.
