Description
Initial situationAccording to the decision of the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag on 26.11.2020, the first Special Investment Program (SIP I) provides federal funding with co-financing from the state of Thuringia for the Thuringian palace landscape. The funding period runs until 2027. Brief description of the castle complexThe Counts and Princes of Schwarzburg ruled over the town of Sondershausen am Kyffhäuser for more than half a millennium. They had the medieval castle extended into a prestigious residential palace, expanding it over the centuries and adapting it to suit the needs of their rulers. They left a unique castle complex to posterity, in which different epochs of stately building are united in a special way. For this reason, the Sondershausen palace, with its interior artworks, octagonal house and 30 hectares of parkland, is one of the most important palace complexes in Thuringia in terms of architecture and art history. Today, the castle ensemble is used as a museum and is also home to the Sondershausen State Music Academy, the Carl Schroeder Conservatory and other institutions.Brief description of the Jägerhaus ensembleThe Jägerhaus building ensemble (with coach house, inner courtyard and historic greenhouses) is directly adjacent to the stables used by the music academy as a seminar building with octagonal house (concert hall) and forecourt and adjoins the former castle nursery at the rear. The Jägerhaus was built around 1800 as part of the palace's horticultural and forestry yard. Until the end of Schwarzburg rule, it served as the administrative headquarters of the huntsman and the forestry administration and as a guest house for the manorial hunts. The historic furnishings of the late baroque-classical building have been severely altered by the subsequent intensive residential use (especially after the war and during the GDR era) and are no longer preserved in part due to progressive decay. The building is vacant. It cannot be used in its current state. The overall impression of the entrance situation to the castle ensemble is severely impaired by the dilapidated, cordoned-off building complex. The urgent priority is to secure the acutely deteriorated building fabric, in particular the half-timbered construction and the still partially preserved historical surfaces and furnishings.planning taskListed building protection measures are carried out to preserve the cultural and architectural monument. The highest priority is given to the planning and implementation of measures for repair and building safety as well as a complex renovation of the guest house of the Landesmusikakademie. A total of approx. 1,200 m2 of gross floor area is to be developed as part of the project. A gross construction cost ceiling of EUR 4.7 million has been set for cost groups 200 to 500 and 700 in accordance with DIN 276. The chargeable costs for cost group 400 are estimated by the client at approx. EUR 712,000 gross (AG 1-3: EUR 442,000 gross / AG 4-6: EUR 270,000 gross). The planning is to be based on the upper construction cost limit.
