Description

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food is seeking a qualified Proponent (contractor or contracting team) to coordinate and deliver an in-person event in B.C. on Indigenous food security, called the “Gathering” in February or March 2025.The Proponent is expected to have internal Indigenous executive leadership (e.g. president, executive officers, partners), established experience coordinating across Indigenous organizations, and a background in delivering successful in-person events of similar size in B.C. Consortium applications with a single lead organization are encouraged to fulfil the breadth and depth of expected skills.The Proponent will work in collaboration with Ministry staff to coordinate the agenda and event logistics, including venue bookings (note that the venue will have been selected by Ministry staff prior to the start of this contract), speakers, activities, catering, promotion, and sponsorship for the Gathering. The successful Proponent will work with the Ministry to develop the event activities and manage external communications and logistics, including coordination among First Nations and Indigenous organizations. Additional responsibilities for the event include managing attendee registration, reimbursements, and honorariums, the provision of on-site support, and delivering post-event reports. Deliverables the successful proponent will be responsible for include the event itself, a video summary of the event, a summary report pdf, and a spreadsheet of follow-up actions.
