In the northern section of Friedrich-Ebert-Straße (FES-Nord) between Helene-Lange-Straße and Puschkinallee, the track system will be renewed and the Reiterweg/Alleestraße stop will be made barrier-free. Accessibility at the stop will be made possible by the creation of stop caps (accessible to cyclists inbound, accessible to motor vehicles outbound). The track system will be renewed and its position adjusted to ensure smooth and unimpeded traffic flow in the area of the barrier-free stop and to ensure use by wider future vehicles in accordance with LHP's local transport plan. As part of the project, LHP is also adapting the traffic lights at the Reiterweg/Alleestraße intersection and adapting the lighting and overhead line system in the construction area. These essentially comprise:- Part A: Demolition of the existing track system incl. concrete base slab, demolition of the asphalt carriageway in the road area and partly of the adjacent sidewalk areas- Part B: New construction of the track superstructure with Rheda-City system over a length of approx. 300 m, new construction of the tracks on the existing concrete base slab over a length of approx. 100 m, bituminous surface sealing in the track and carriageway area, new construction of the two stop caps, renewal of the adjacent footpath and civil engineering for cables- Part C: construction of temporary track changes to enable single-track operation- Part D: optional: renovation of the road surface in the crossing area at the Reiterweg/Alleestraße intersection and installation of a guidance system for the blindThe construction project will be carried out in a total of 7 construction phases. The renewal of the track systems in the crossing area of the Reiterweg/Alleestraße intersection must be carried out between 18.07. and 31.08.2024 (summer vacations) during the full road closure (construction phases 2B and 2C).During construction, participation in the weekly construction meeting is mandatory.
