HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH (HOWOGE) is planning to renovate a listed school campus on the approximately 20,863 m² building plot at Beuckestraße 27-29 in Berlin Steglitz-Zehlendorf.
The current planning envisages the following:
The BT-A (former Schadow-Gymnasium) will house the administration, years 5-6, the upper school and the inclusion area. In addition, a sports hall and ancillary rooms are available in the existing building. Years 7-9 and specialist rooms for music and art will be located in BT-B (formerly Beucke School). An assembly hall is available next to the sports hall. The BT-C extension will house the new canteen, the triple sports hall (22x45) without stands, the science rooms and the year 10 classrooms. The extension forms the new center of the school and is located in the middle of the campus. A spacious passageway as an outdoor space in the middle of the building connects both existing buildings and outdoor areas. The BT-D (former director's villa) is also located on the campus grounds, but is not used for school purposes. There is a janitor's apartment on the upper floors. The existing triple sports hall BT-C, including an adjoining canteen extension, will be demolished due to structural and functional defects. An interim canteen is to be provided on the western part of the school campus to ensure food supplies during the demolition and new construction of building section C.
