Description
A Hong Kong railway operator invites qualified contractors to express their interest in tendering for the management and maintenance services for the Lok Ma Chau Ecological Enhancement Area (about 37 hectares) and West Rail Habitat Compensation Area (about 12 hectares). They are located at Lok Ma Chau and Kam Tin respectively.
The scope of the services includes:
- management of the water level and water quality of the fishponds
- management of the ponds to stock fish in accordance with the corporation’s Habitat Creation and Management Plan
- maintenance of the earthwork and pond bunds
- vegetation management
- operation and maintenance of the pumping equipment and pipework
- operation of the wetland site
- general maintenance of bird hides
- site administration
- security
The aim if that the wetlands should be managed and maintained in a good condition to attract wildlife species, in particular water birds.
The contract duration will be 3 years with an option to extend for another 3 years.
The prequalification process for the tender will take place in May 2017. Tenders will be invited in July 2017.
