INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order to HCPro, a division of Simplify Compliance LLC located at 100 Winners Circle, Suite 300, Brentwood, Tennessee 37024-5094 for a project entitled "On Site Training for Certified Coder Boot Camp". HCPro has developed the Certified Coder Boot Camp program which is a five day intensive training program. The period of performance will be July 29 to August 2, 2019 on site at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, 7500 Security Blvd, Baltimore, MD. The sole source award will be made under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 235 ( C ) ( 1 ) as implemented by FAR6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies and Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. A justification and approval is currently being processed for this requirement. This requirement is intended as a sole source procurement because after in depth market research, HCPro is the only company which offers a five day course suited for both clinicians and non-clinicians during the specific timeframe. HCPro is also endorsed by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
CMS REQUIREMENTS: The Center for Program Integrity (CPI) benefits from this procurement because the Certified Coder Boot Camp uniquely prepares participants to understand and apply coding principles and rules appropriately, navigate the ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS II coding manuals, apply knowledge to AAPC's CPC exam, develop fundamental coding skills for all medical specialties.
NAICS CODES: The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 611430 Professional and Management Development Training and the size standard is $11.0 million.
