Description
On 1.3.2018 the European Commission adopted a financing decision in order to implement a European Parliament Preparatory Action granting travel passes to Europeans turning 18 years old to explore Europe.
On this basis, the current initiative called "DiscoverEU" aims to provide all EU young people regardless of their social or educational background, a travel experience that would help strengthen their European identity and their understanding of what the EU stands for. The young people should be able to connect with other people across Europe, exchange ideas and engage in cross-country networks.
This European Parliament Preparatory Action will in principle be further implemented in 2019 and in 2020. The European Commission is launching this Framework Contract with the aim of having at least one application round on an annual basis. It is however expected to have on average two application rounds every year (thus in 2019 and 2020).
