Description

This bid solicitation cancels and supersedes previous bid solicitation number: FP802-200224/A dated February 19,2021 with a closing of March 31, 2021 at 2:00 PM (EDT) Background Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) took acceptance of nine new “Hero Class” Mid-Shore Patrol Vessel (MSPVs) built by Irving Shipyards between 2012 and 2014. The vessels operate across the country in salt, brackish and fresh waters. MSPVs use an Allied crane (MODEL TB10-23) for the launching and recovering of Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIBs) and for cargo handling. This crane was designed to launch RHIBs dynamically in weather up to Sea State 5. This training is in response to several hazardous occurrences. A Hazardous Occurrence #HO-CA-2017-143 involved a RHIB being lowered uncontrollably on to the deck, injuring crew members. This was due to a fault in the Constant Tension function and as a result up until recently Constant Tension had been disabled on vessels. A resulting action plan was generated, including direction for the constant tension function. This training is to meet the recommendations of the resulting action plan, and to coincide with the reactivation of the Constant Tension function. Period of the Contract The period of the Contract is from date of Contract award to August 31, 2022 inclusive. Option to Extend the Contract The Contractor grants to Canada the irrevocable option to extend the term of the Contract by up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods under the same conditions. The Contractor agrees that, during the extended period of the Contract, it will be paid in accordance with the applicable provisions as set out in the Basis of Payment. Canada may exercise this option at any time by sending a written notice to the Contractor before the expiry date of the Contract. The option may only be exercised by the Contracting Authority, and will be evidenced for administrative purposes only, through a contract amendment.
