Germany - Construction of district heating pipeline networks

Description

Vattenfall Wärme Berlin Aktiengesellschaft intends to gradually replace the plants currently fired with coal at the Reuter West site, Großer Spreering 5, 13599 Berlin, with various climate-friendly plants. The aim of the project is the modernization and decarbonization of the site as well as to pave the way to a climate-neutral electricity and heat supply for the capital beyond 2030 (the overall project).According to the current state of planning, Vattenfall Wärme Berlin Aktiengesellschaft intends to achieve this goal by means of various sub-projects and overarching measures.The present announcement concerns the sub-project "RHB" (REB Reuter Hydraulic Backbone - new hydraulic infrastructure at the Reuter West site) and within this sub-project Lot 2 - new district heating pipeline connection between a district heating generation plant to be newly built and the existing heating center. The aim is to ensure the on-time district heating connection of the new plants and, in parallel, to ensure the continued operation of the existing plants. The entire RHB project consists of 3 lots:- Lot 1 - Civil Engineering (EU Contract Notice - 2022/S 048-125530, is not part of this tender)- Lot 2 - New district heating pipeline connection between new district heating - generation plant and existing central heating plant- Lot 3 - Equipment for a new central pumping station to supply heat to the existing and new plants (will be tendered separately and is not part of this tender)Civil works for the construction of the foundations for the new pipeline and for the construction of the building for the new pumping station will be provided through a framework contract by a third party contractor in a separate procurement procedure (Lot 1).
This publication relates exclusively to Lot 2, which includes verification of the preliminary design, including dimensioning of a new district heating pipeline, as well as the design, supply, construction, preparation of documentation and subsequent commissioning of the new district heating pipeline at the Reuter West site.Scope:- Construction of several new pipelines and connection of new generating facilities to be built to the existing district heating network at the Reuter West site- Total of approx. 650m pipeline route, primarily laid above ground and partially elevated- Pipeline route with different sections and executed in different diameters (DN600 to DN1200).Boundary conditions:- Construction during ongoing operation of the combined heat and power plant- Interactions with other construction projects at the site- "Brownfield" project, i.e. construction in existing buildings- Contract awarded approx. mid-2023- Commissioning in Q4/2024 (or turn of the year 2024/25)
