The Municipality of Caplan is requesting tenders for its project to build a new fire hall and municipal garage in Caplan at 78-78a Route des Érables.

ELIGIBILITY: Only bids from general contractors holding the required licence under the Building Act (R.S.Q., c.B.-1.1) are authorized for the purpose of awarding the contract.
BID SECURITY AND SURETY BONDS : Tenderers shall present a bid bond in an amount equal to 10% of the tender valid for a period of 90 days following the date of opening of tenders, or a cheque in an amount equal to 10% of the tender valid for a period of 120 days and, possibly exchanged at the signing of the contract for a performance bond and a guarantee of obligations for pledges, materials and services, in the form of a surety bond each representing an amount equal to 50% of the contract price and for a period extending from the beginning of the contract until twelve (12) months following the certificate of completion of the work.
Only surety bonds issued by companies licensed as insurers in Canada will be accepted under the terms of the tender documents.
SUBMISSION OF TENDERS: Tenders (original and two (2) copies) in sealed envelopes, marked "Caplan Fire Hall and Municipal Garage", will be received at Caplan Town Hall until 11:00 a.m., local time, Monday, February 8, for public opening at the same location, on the same day and at the same time.
Tendering contractors are responsible for the selection of subcontractors, both for their solvency and for the content of their bid.
The Municipality of Caplan reserves the right to award the contract in whole or in part and does not undertake to accept the lowest or any of the bids received, nor to incur any obligation or expense of any kind towards the bidder(s).
