They should be hard and soft (but not blue cheese) and come in retail and festive packs.

The festive packs should include 3 to 5 small 50gm portions that are attractively packaged and presented:

It also wants:

- traditional and artisan British cheese
- hard cheese
- soft cheese such as Cheddar or fruit cheeses

The cheese should:

- be ISO and HACCP certified
- be in retail packs
- have the country of origin clearly stated

The cheese will be prioritised if it has BRC certification.
