Description

Introduction of export opportunity (“EO”).

The International Markets Team in Middle East and Pakistan (MEaP) is sharing an exclusive opportunity for UK companies to submit their interest to a leading retail pharmacy company in Saudi Arabia. The main activities of the company are pharmacy activities, wholesale of medical devices and equipment, retailing of medical devices, equipment and supplies. Companies submitting must ensure they are capable in meeting the requirements outlined in this EO.

Please note the company would like to discuss commercial negotiations directly with the principle and not with consolidators or distributors. Consolidators and distributors are excluded from this opportunity.

Products and qualifications of EO

Specifications include:

  • company must have export experience and a working website
  • open to well known companies, if not well known has full assortment available
  • must be able to provide turnover per year in their submission
  • (recommended) provide approximate company ranking in UK sector as part of the submisison

Categories, product types, descriptions and qualifications

Baby accessories

For example, milk bottles. Interested in a higher priced brand:

  • minimum 45 to 50 SKUs

Baby food

Bigger assortments required (for example pouches, jars, biscuits, snacks):

  • minimum 50 SKUs

Baby wipes

Must have ability to offer full range of products:

  • minimum 5 to 7 SKUs

Baby diapers

Large opportunity in this segment:

  • minimum 24 SKUs

Milk (baby)

N/A

  • must be private label
  • minimum 10 SKUs

Toiletries

For babies, and also very open to kids range between 6 to 7 years old (for example).  Looking for full assortment of products:

  • 15 to 25 SKUs

Children glasses

To protect eyes from iPad / TV radiation:

  • 10 SKUs

Mother accessories

For example, accessories during pregnancy and after pregnancy:

  • minimum 5 SKUs

Female sanitary products

Pads, tampons:

  • 10 SKUs

Pregnancy tests

N/A

  • 3 to 5 SKUs

Sifting process and next steps

The submissions will be received by the International Markets Team in Middle East and Pakistan (MEaP). They will assess submissions and send acceptances or rejections, based on criteria which include:

  • company must have a working website
  • ensuring the companies applied are in good financial standing as per Company House
  • companies must ensure they fill-in details under How to Apply. Blank submissions  will be rejected
  • demonstrated a clear description and capability statement

Companies will receive a system generated approval, or denial, on whether they have been sifted for this opportunity. The MEaP team will then provide the list of companies and their contact details, and their capability statements to the buyer. The buyer will review the list and contact the company directly should they wish to proceed. Responses may take longer than usual from the buyer. the company does not receive an email from the buyer or Department for Business and Trade, they may have not been shortlisted for the opportunity.

All commercial discussions and negotiations are to be discussed and agreed between the UK company and the buyer.
