Canada - Auto Immune/ Phadia EliA reagents and consumables

Notice is hereby given that Fraser Health Authority, Interior Health Authority, Northern Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), is directly awarding a non-volume committed Contract to the following supplier to provide Auto Immune/ Phadia EliA reagents relevant consumables at an estimated value of CAD $2.69M over the four (4) years. Somagen Diagnostics Inc. 9220 25 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6N 1E1In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason: the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reasons: 1.  to ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or its representative;The various diagnostic laboratories across the five (5) Health Authorities in BC requires the continued supply of EliA reagents and consumables to ensure the compatibility with the existing Phadia and DSRie systems from Somagen.  This is to support the estimated life span of existing machines to complete the testing. Somagen is the exclusive distributor for Canada for the Phadia EliA reagents and consumables.Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Fran Zhang by email to fran.zhang@phsa.ca before 2:00pm Pacific Time, May 18, 2023.
